The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines may protect against the coronavirus for years , according to new research. Scientists reported that most people immunized with the mRNA vaccines might not need boosters , so long as the virus and its variants do not evolve much beyond their current forms — which is not guaranteed. Early results from a separate British study suggest that mixing brands of vaccines can provoke a protective immune response against Covid-19. While experts recommend sticking with two doses of the same vaccine, that may not be possible in many cases.
